PLEASE NOTE: I am currently providing parenting, separating/divorcing couples mediation on behalf of the Legal Aid Board and am unable to take on private referrals for these types of mediation cases at this time.
For 12 years I have supported dozens of families as a Functional Family Therapist and as a Mediator.
In working with so many families it is clear that using evidence-based dispute resolution and mediation resulted in significant positive changes for those families. Mediation is delivered in accordance with the Mediation Act 2017 and the Mediation Institute of Ireland Code of Ethics and Practice.
Whats involved?
In the majority of cases mediation can be delivered over the course of 3-6 meetings (one-to-one and/or joint meetings) with the option of further meetings as needed and agreed.
How does it work?
By bringing in a neutral third party skilled in Family Dispute Resolution and Mediation, problems can be successfully negotiated by encouraging family members to see things from each others perspective and to realise the harm negative behaviours can cause.
Mediation is confidential, cost effective and all decisions are made by the parties concerned. It is important to note that not all mediations end in agreement however in the vast majority of cases agreement is reached. Mediation is a dispute resolution process designed to give both parties the best chance to reach a balanced agreement together.
